Our Story

NexCore Systems was founded in 2009 by Marcus T. Reynolds and Jennifer K. Zhao — two enterprise IT veterans who believed that mid-market Bay Area businesses deserved access to the same caliber of technology expertise as Fortune 500 companies, without the Fortune 500 price tags or the impersonal service of large national IT firms.

Starting with a team of 8 engineers in a small office in downtown San Jose, NexCore grew rapidly by doing what we promised: being responsive when clients called, delivering projects on time, and genuinely caring about the outcomes — not just the billable hours. Word of mouth within the tightly connected Bay Area business community drove our growth through our first decade.

By 2015, NexCore had expanded to 60 team members and opened satellite offices in San Francisco and Palo Alto to serve our growing client base across the Bay Area. Our service portfolio expanded from basic managed IT into specialized practices: cloud migration, cybersecurity, ERP consulting, and software development — each built by hiring deep specialists rather than generalists pretending to be experts.

Today, NexCore Systems employs over 120 technology professionals, serves more than 500 enterprise clients, and manages over 15,000 endpoints across industries including healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, technology, professional services, and non-profit organizations. We remain headquartered in San Jose — committed to the Bay Area community that gave us our start.

Community Involvement

NexCore Systems is proud to be an active member of the San Jose business community. We partner with local organizations including the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Bay Area Council, and TechNet California. Our team members regularly speak at local technology events, mentor students at San Jose State University and UC Santa Cruz, and contribute to open-source projects in the cybersecurity community.

Through our NexCore Cares program, we provide discounted or pro-bono IT services to Bay Area non-profit organizations working in education, healthcare access, and poverty reduction. We believe technology should be a force for good in our community.

NexCore Systems is headquartered at 2847 Zanker Road, Suite 310, San Jose, CA 95134 — located in the heart of Silicon Valley's North San Jose technology corridor. Our 18,000 square foot headquarters houses our executive team, engineering staff, 24/7 Network Operations Center, and Security Operations Center. We also maintain satellite offices in San Francisco's Financial District and Palo Alto's University Avenue corridor for client convenience.
